What is the use of voice clarity function in Nokia Mobile

I just bought a new NOKIA 5800 and checked voice clarity feature in it. Right now I am getting good voice clarity and even after using this feature, didn’t find anything extra. Can anybody tell me its exact use?

Hello and welcome, I am not sure about your model but the Voice clarity basically clears all the extra noise that the phone catches and filters it, so if you have not got much back ground noise I guess you will not notice much improvement ?
Maybe its a good option when in public places?

Just an added note there have been reports that there is a manufacturing hiccup on nearly half the 5800s sold in the market where the earpiece speaker connectors are a tiny bit loose.

This slight defect causes the sound to fluctuate between being too loud or too silent to the point of being inaudible. Fortunately, you can get this problem fixed at Nokia Service Centres as it's quite a simple operation.

I don't see the extra use either. Probably it does not really make anything better. Maybe if the voice is extraordinarily bad it will have a positive effect. But in general I don't see the point of this function because it does not improve anything for me. Typically Nokia to create something that does not improve the use, isn't it.

I'd imagine its really just an audio filter for background noise like the hustle and bustle of a busy town centre or a washing machine etc. As per my thinking these are all standard features on today's smartphones.
